1 Eligibility for admission
| Academic background — Twelve years of schooling completed in the science stream. |
| Grades — Minimum D+ in every subject of 10+2 with a CGPA of 2.0 or above, or at least second division (45%) in 10+2 / PCL or equivalent in a science discipline. |
| Pending results — Students awaiting the grade 12 supplementary exam (Pupak Pariksha), or awaiting final results and certificates, may still apply — required documents must be submitted at admission. |
| Foreign certificates — An equivalence certificate plus subject-wise grading (CGPA or total percentage) from the concerned authority is required. |
| Entrance exam — Passing the Purbanchal University entrance examination is mandatory. |
2 Evaluation procedures

Continuous assessment
Every course is assessed throughout the semester through class and tutorial participation, assignments, lab work, and quizzes. Weighting is announced at the start of the semester.

Theory + laboratory courses
20% internal marks, 20% practical marks, 60% final examination marks.

|
Pure theory courses
40% internal marks, 60% final examination marks.
|
|
Pure laboratory / practical courses
60% continuous internal evaluation, 40% final viva evaluated by the University.

|
End-semester examination
Set and evaluated by external examiners at the close of each semester.

CGPA = Σ(Credit hrs × Grade pts) / Σ(Credit hrs)
Students must maintain a CGPA of 2.0 or above throughout the program; falling below may require withdrawal.
